Interior Design Project: Porch Renovation and Extension
Objective: Transform a cramped and outdated porch area into a spacious, secure, and aesthetically pleasing entrance.
Details:
Original State: The front door could only open halfway due to space constraints, and the outdated black PVC door lacked security and appeal. The hallway was tiled with small red terracotta tiles, which clashed with the desired aesthetic.
Renovation: Extended the porch into the hallway, doubling the space and allowing the front door to open fully. Replaced the old front door with a custom-designed solid wood door featuring a diamond-patterned window for a classic touch. The small terracotta tiles were replaced with Victorian geometric tiles, evoking the owner’s nostalgic connection to her grandfather’s house. The interior door was upgraded to a walnut wood door with half glass to maximize natural light in the hallway.
Results: The renovation significantly improved functionality, enhanced security, and added a timeless, elegant style to the entrance. The before, during, and after photos showcase the transformation.
